The many symptoms hypnotherapy can deal with...
Smoking
Why is it that we can know the horrendous dangers of smoking, we think it’s stupid to smoke, and really want to give up – but still seem to be unable to – and fail again and again? We watch those dreadful anti-smoking adverts on TV, decide to give it up once and for all – and the next day are back on the dreaded weed. The reason for this is that when we try to give up this way, we are only dealing with the conscious mind –and we need co-operation from the subconscious mind too, so it doesn’t sabotage our efforts. Will power alone is very often not enough.
That is why hypnotherapy is uniquely powerful in helping us to give up – permanently.
Smoking has been – falsely – taken on board as an emotional or psyschological necessity for you by your subconscious mind. So your conscious mind and subconscious mind are in battle, and when this is the case, the subconscious usually wins – it’s rather like a child in a tantrum and doesn’t give in easily!
But the good news is that in a hypnotic state the false information in your subconscious mind can be accessed; those past beliefs can then be taken away, and replaced with the positive ones you already know consciously - that you are a non-smoker, and no longer want, or need to smoke.
It is important to note, though, that an important factor for the success of hypnotherapy is that you are 100% on board with a strong intent to stop. If there’s any doubt in your mind, then your subconscious will protect those past beliefs and could affect the success of the therapy.
I have helped many people give up smoking easily and successfully and they are so happy to be out of the nicotine prison at last.
Stress and Anxiety
Hypnotherapy safely and effectively gets you back in control of your life by:
Depression
Hypnotherapy can be an extremely powerful tool in alleviating the burden of depression and leading you out of the shadows and back to yourself.
Fears and Phobias
Self- Esteem/Confidence
“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood” Marie Curie
To some extent stress and anxiety are an inevitable part of modern life and we can usually cope with them.
However sometimes they can get out of hand and then there is an overload on mind and body. This can lead to constant anxious thinking, panic attacks, and sometimes to physical symptoms in the body – for instance Irritable Bowel Syndrome amongst others. You start to feel you are no longer in the driving seat and are losing control over your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour – in fact over your life!
Hypnosis, combined with Solution Focused Therapy, is extremely helpful in depression.
The emphasis is on reducing anxiety which often accompanies depression, discussion of the causes
(although we rarely focus unduly on the past), and devising strategies together to help you move forward with new hope and optimism.
I can usually treat simple fears such as exam, driving test or performance nerves in 1 or 2 sessions by reducing anxiety and creating a positive outlook through suggestion and visualisation.
When any fear becomes a phobia it can be extremely debilitating, and restrict many areas of life. (For instance, fear of flying, fear of the dentist, claustrophobia amongst others, all impact negatively on our day-to day lives.) Using hypnotherapy, phobias can usually be cured within three to five sessions.
As well as being a hypnotherapist I am a qualified life coach. We can work together using a variety of techniques (including goal setting, NLP, examining self-limiting beliefs and core values, all reinforced with the wonderful power of hypnosis) to help you move forward in life and get where you would like to be.
